11:00am: Speaker - Megan Whitlock, Senior Manager, KPMG on tax legislation updates - Megan will give a current update on tax legislation including the status of the carried interest regulations under 1061, issues with the debt regulations under 752 and status of 163j interest regulations.
11:45am: Lunch Buffet Open
12:00pm: Speaker Dwayne Purvis, P.E. will present on 'Making Cash Flows' - Decisions pivot on cash flow analysis, and cash flow builds on all of the major drivers in the business. Reliable cash flow analysis requires a broad understanding of the issues and methods for inputs ranging from geology to gas differentials, from decline curves to discount rates. Mr. Purvis will survey methods, notable issues and misunderstood assumptions for creating and interpreting cash flows.
ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:
Dwayne Puvis, P.E. - Dwayne has spent two and a half decades in reservoir engineering and executive leadership as a consultant and operator. He has led or participated in hundreds of field studies and reserve analyses over dozens of basins in the United States and abroad, and he has participated in the sale or acquisition of projects valued from tens of thousands to billions of dollars.
Before starting his own consulting practice in 2015, he served Jetta Operating Company as Reservoir Engineering Manager and Reserves Manager. Prior roles include founder and Executive Vice President of consulting firm The Strickland Group and partner at Cawley, Gillespie & Associates, and he currently serves as an adjunct professor at Texas Christian University.
Mr. Purvis has published on issues of shale reservoirs, decline curve analysis, reserves, and risk analysis. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas, member of SPEE, AAPG, SEG and a 25-year member of SPE.
